More than two-thirds of the UK market's commercial cars and light commercial vehicles could be replaced with electric models, according to a new study by Webfleet Solutions, a UK telemeter-technology Solutions provider.
WebFleet Solutions' survey is reportedly based on an analysis of data from around 100,000 connected vehicles operated by more than 5,000 commercial fleet customers across Europe.WebFleet Solutions uses the Fleet Electrification Planning Report to recommend which gas-powered models can be replaced with electric models based on daily mileage.Fleet Electrification Planning Reporting is a new feature in Webfleet Solutions' Webfleet Fleet Management solution.
The results show that if a car does not travel more than 300km a day over a 12-month period, it is likely to be replaced by an electric vehicle.The daily limit of 300 kilometers is the average range for most regular electric cars and light commercial vehicles.The core results included in WebFleet Solutions' survey include:
